MY JOURNEY

Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to explore my professional journey and portfolio. This platform serves as a transparent window into my diverse collection of businesses, strategic investments, and most recent ventures. My ambition is not only to share, but also to inspire a meaningful conversation, mutually exchange ideas, and support other innovative minds and entrepreneurs.

My first independent venture was Shutterbug, one of the pioneering online digital Photo labs, which I founded while concurrently pursuing a career as a systems engineer at DoubleClick, an early ad tech innovator. My parents had a profound influence on my development as a businessperson – my father, a Photographer, and my mother, a cancer researcher. The countless evenings spent in a photography studio and a research lab during my youth shaped my holistic, balanced approach to business.

As the online Photo printing sector became heavily commoditized, I shifted my focus to the more profitable upper echelons of the Photography industry, specifically in high-end events and wedding photography. The lucrative, recession-resistant, and highly fragmented market held immense potential. My previous experiences in tech, allowed me to introduce a scalable model that led us to photograph several hundred weddings and events per year.

Throughout my career, I've launched numerous businesses to complement my photography ventures, including SocialGift.com, a platform that facilitates split payments, Wed.ly, an event website creator, and the MANGO Photographer booking platform.

In addition to building businesses, I have made strategic investments in the hospitality, early-stage tech / AI, blockchain, and real estate sectors. Although my daily involvement in our photography enterprises has lessened, I am fortunate to collaborate with a team of exceptionally talented partners who manage our various businesses.

In line with my journey in photography, my current focus is exploring the potential of AI to revolutionize design and building processes.
